Underpinning prices in Newcastle
This site does not set or quote prices. Of ten Newcastle-area businesses whose pages we read, one publishes prices on its Newcastle pages, and this page carries its figures, credited and dated. They are not a price for your house.

Mainmark's Newcastle page says to expect the average residential underpinning job to cost anywhere between A$4,000 and A$15,000, and its cost page gives mass concrete underpinning at A$1,000 to A$3,000 per metre, beam and base underpinning at A$1,500 to A$3,500 per metre and mini-piled underpinning at A$10,000 to A$20,000 per pile, depending on depth. Mainmark sells underpinning by several methods, resin injection among them, and the Newcastle figure carries an asterisk whose footnote we could not find. Neither page prints a date: the page metadata dates the Newcastle page 21 August 2026 and the cost page 12 August 2026. We read both on 25 September 2026.
Before you agree to a price
Ask for a licence number and the categories it covers, since underpinning or piering work above A$5,000 is licensed, and NSW requires a written contract when the price is over A$5,000 including GST. Where a contract is worth more than A$20,000 including GST, you should receive proof of home building compensation cover for your property before the work starts or a deposit is taken, and a deposit can be no more than 10% of the contract price. Then ask which cause each quote assumes, because two quotes for one house can rest on different causes.

No figure is shown for restumping, house levelling, resin injection or screw piles. No other Newcastle business we read publishes a price for them, and the figures we found elsewhere in Australia for those methods contradict each other, per stump and per pile, so none is shown. Three figures on this page are thresholds, not prices: the licence line, the written-contract line and the home building compensation cover line.
